Frogs into Princes (Book)
This had to be our very first resource for you regardless of who you are or where
you are in terms of your NLP journey. This is the very first book on NLP as far
as we're concerned ... and one of the best if not "-the"- best one out there. If
you're new to NLP you'll find the whole model laid out for you in a compelling,
interesting read. If you've been around NLP for years read it again you'll find
something in there that you hadn't ever noticed before. This is a transcript of
Richard Bandler and John Grinder presenting live NLP training edited by Steve Andreas.
The editing is superb, the information fascinating and the format entertaining.
Just read it as you would a novel and you'll get far more from it. Trying to "-figure
it out"- will only frustrate and confuse you - save that at least until your second
reading. -
[NOTE: It's out of print now however you can still get it from Amazon.com used
and on occasion you'll find a new copy of it there as well. The link above will
take you directly to the Amazon.com page for Frogs into Princes.]
2.
TRANCE-formations (Book)
This is another early book by Richard Bandler and John Grinder also a transcription
of live training also superbly edited by Steve Andreas. This one covers the application
of hypnosis in NLP. It's a wonderful introduction to hypnosis for anyone who is
just beginning to study the relationship between language and behavior and/or hypnosis
specifically. The same recommendation as given for "-Frogs into Princes"- applies,
read it as you would a novel if you want to get the most from it. This is a book
to own and read and read again - it may not be possible to get all there is to get
from reading it. -
[NOTE: This book is also currently out of print, and tends to be expensive even
used. However don't let the price scare you off, if you don't already own it and
you're serious about wanting to study NLP and/or Hypnosis you owe it to yourself
to make the investment and read it - you will be pleased you have and it will surely
become a staple in your personal library (be careful about loaning it out though
it tends to be long in getting returned). The link above will again take you to
the Amazon.com page where you can find a copy to purchase.]
3. Persuasion Engineering
(Audio Tapes)
This is an tape set recorded live at a training in New York City with Richard
Bandler and John LaValle the co-developers of the Persuasion Engineering training.
They say it's a combination of Richard's "-Patterns of Persuasion"- and "-Design
Human Engineering"- (DHE) and John's "-secrets"- of sales, business and consulting
strategies. Regardless of what it comes from what it is a powerful model of how
to use language to impact and create behavioral responses - the essence of persuasion.
The language patterns are packed and there's a ton of information of how to use
the non-verbal components of communication as well to create spectacular results
with others. This item is highly - recommended for anyone who wants to master the
art of presenting themselves. The Persuasion Engineering tape set doesn't come cheap,
but if you make a living selling or working with people to get results you're likely
to get your investment back tens of times over before you've even listened to the
last tape in the set, if you're not yet fully confident in your ability to present
yourself at your best and get others to move with you then the value of it for you
may be priceless. -
4. Persuasion Engineering (Book)
This is the natural companion to the Persuasion Engineering audio tape set above.
If you want a feel for what the material is like before taking the plunge into the
audio program begin here. If you've already got the tape set get the book as well
so you can take in the information at your own pace and see the language patterns
as well as hear them. If you're willing, able and ready get both and you're sure
to be on your way to perfecting your persuasion skills in almost every kind of human
interaction you could imagine. -
5.
Mythology and the Individual - Joseph Campbell (Audio Tape)
Joseph Campbell is not generally considered one of the sources of the NLP model
and it would be difficult to argue that his work is present in the model in any
direct way in most cases. However, listening to Joseph Campbell on tape is a wonderful
experience and does make the case for how powerful stories are in conveying a message.
A large part of NLP is based in metaphor and Joseph Campbell is an undisputed master
of the form, for some he "-IS"- the master of the form. This is the first set in
a series of lectures given my Joseph Campbell to students and captures his warm
and engaging style as well as providing a great introduction to his model, "-The
Hero's Journey."- Two well-known and respected NLP Trainers at least, Roye Fraser
and Joseph Riggio, base a significant amount of their work in NLP on Campbell's
model and there is much to be learned from him as you consider the 'human journey."-
The place to encounter Campbell is via the spoken word and these tapes are from
a time in his life where he had mastered the art and was at or near his peak.
[NOTE: If you prefer this product is also available in Audio CD format.]
6. NLP World
Magazine - (Magazine)
We won't say much about this publication here, just that "-NLP World"- was recognized
as the foremost international NLP publication for many years and it's new incarnation
will take that reputation and expand on it in an even more elegant and arresting
format. You can expect a world-class publication with an emphasis on NLP applications.
The editorial plans include a monthly interview with a top NLP Trainer, a detailed
NLP case-study, at least one NLP application in detail aimed at business/organizational
clients, articles specifically for NLP professionals dealing with professional applications,
and on occasion articles dealing with the history, theory and development of NLP
as it continues to evolve. The publication will be what you'd expect from a world-class
professional magazine, for more information follow the link above to the NLP World
Magazine section on this site.
7. Anchor Point
Magazine (Magazine)
Anchor Point Magazine is the longest running NLP periodical that we know about.
It is now published by Anchor Point Institute an NLP training center based in Salt
Lake City, Utah, USA. The magazine is produced in US Letter Size format (standard
US magazine size) and is printed in black and white on newsprint with a full color
cover. Many notable NLP professional's have contributed to this magazine over the
years of it's publication. You'll find many different types of articles on NLP and
a schedule of NLP activities and trainings in each issue. -
8.
Introducing Neuro-Linguistic Programming (Book)
You'll either hate this or love this book by Joseph O'Connor and John Seymour.
It's the best overview of the NLP model and what it's comprised of out there. It's
logical, accessible and comprehensive. So what's to hate? Purists say it's not NLP
because NLP does not allow for a linear, digital presentation, nor does it attempt
to describe itself - both of which this book does. These folks say this book is
a dry imitation of what NLP "-really"- is, however you'd be hard pressed to find
a better, clearer introduction to what is contained in the NLP model, with a bit
of the history and development of NLP thrown in for good measure. NLPWorld.com's
verdict: Buy it and make your own decision, most people find that it's a valuable
addition to their NLP library (even if they won't admit it publicly). -
9.
Tony Robbins - Personal Power II (Audio Tape Self-Help Program)
Personal Power II is Tony Robbins second incarnation of his best selling audio
tape program which ran on late-night infomercials for many years (and can still
be seen in various markets worldwide). This is "-the"- multimedia course which will
teach you how to apply the technology of NLP to your own life. It's packed full
of great material, Tony lays it out so it's simple to follow regardless of your
background or experience. It's presented as a structured step-by-step personal study
course where you're led from "-lesson"- to "-lesson"- listening to one tape each
day for 30 days (with breaks for the weekends). It's compelling stuff and there
are too many testimonials to disregard or even attempt to reproduce. If you want
the next best thing to attending a live NLP training or want to reconnect with the
'cream' of the NLP personal development technology consider giving these tapes a
chance for a change ... nobody does it like Tony and for what he does he the best
there is in the opinion of NLPWorld.com.
10. Richard Bandler TV (http://www.richardbandler.tv)
This is an interesting site with a limited number of streaming audio files featuring
Richard Bandler. You'll have to listen on-line, however you'll get the opportunity
to experience Richard presenting his take on NLP by doing it, in his own voice and
around what he thinks is interesting to present in this format. This is definitely
worth checking out when you have the time and bandwidth available to take advantage
of what's being offered.
